Bastide Saint Maurin

Perfect vacation

Pros: We so enjoyed our visit to Bastide Saint Maurin. We were delighted to meet Jacqueline and Bernard and stay in their beautiful home with its productive essential oil farm. The room was most attractive and comfortable with lovely views. We are very grateful that our hosts took much time and care over us, and for the opportunity to discuss the local. We were particularly pleased to see the essential oil operation, which Bernard so kindly gave his time to show us before we left.

Really lovely stay

Pros: Location very good with lots of villages and wineries near by. Breakfast very good. Host Jacqueline very good and helped us with maps and recommendations where to go and visit. Really enjoyed our visit.

A perfect stay with amazing hosts

Pros: My husband and I had the most amazing stay at Bastide St Maurin! Jacqueline and Bernard were perfect hosts and so welcoming and accommodating to us. They helped us with restaurant and sightseeing recommendations and were so friendly! The Bastide itself is set in wonderful countryside with spectacular views across the valley towards Ansouis. Breakfast was delicious with freshly squeezed juice, fresh fruit, homemade jams and freshly baked croissants and bread every day. Our room had lovely views over the courtyard and oak tree grove - the bathroom was a great size with a huge bathtub and double sink. The Bastide is perfectly located to access Ansouis, Cucuron and Lourmarin by car. Aix is around 45 minutes away and Avignon around 1h10m. A car is a must to access all of the beautiful villages and scenery nearby. We so enjoyed our stay and couldn't recommend the Bastide more highly - wonderful!

Cons: The only thing that could have improved our stay is to have air conditioning in the rooms, although a fan was provided which helped with the heat.

A perfect stay in Provence

Pros: Lovely place! In the heart of Provence in an excellent location, close to villages, towns, restaurants and wineries. The view from every corner is breathtaking, the owners are charming and helpful, a great vacation! Highly recommended

A friend recommended the property and I was not disappointed!

Pros: Jacqueline's breakfasts were a delicious way to start the day. Her spread included homemade jams, fresh fruit, freshly squeezed juice, homemade baked goods and baguette and bread and pastries bought every morning. As well, she kindly offered eggs cooked to your liking. The room and facilities were very well appointed and I felt very much at ease in their home. Jacqueline and Bernard are consummate hosts.

Cons: I didn't like that I had to say goodbye as it was a wonderful base for day trips exploring the spectacular scenery of Provence and visiting her beautiful villages.

Beautiful property but a car is a must

Pros: The property is beautiful, it is peaceful and the views are incredible. The proud owner shared with us the historical connection with Romans who lived there 2000 years ago which was impressive. The rooms are comfortable, our room didn’t have air conditioning but temperature was just right at the time we stayed. Breakfast was simple but tasty.

Cons: Whilst the scenery is incredible there isn’t much to do around and you need a car to be able to explore the area. There is no restaurant nearby, if you want to eat a meal in the evening you need to drive to nearby villages.

Lovely owner and beautiful property. Good value for money.

Pros: Beautiful property and lovely staff. Close to the wedding venue of our friends. And value for money.

Cons: I didn’t like how bright it got in the room early in the morning. So would have preferred darker blinds. And didn’t like how warm it was at night sleeping. But the fan they provided helped. Would give 10/10 otherwise.
